Darkness and moonlight
Rating PG-13
"Help me...." The feeble voice coughed. his thick red blood drained out of the gunshot wound, and I couldn't believe it, my own father was dying....I dropped the gun on the floor and went on my knees to lift my father's head up to take his pulse. He was dead. No, this can't be happening, how could I have killed my own father? Hot tears streamed down my face. This couldn't be happening to me. I looked into his cold pale face, there was no mistaking it now, and he was gone. What have I done?!
1 week earlier
Just another boring day at DDHS, I just sit in homeroom waiting for the morning announcements to start. The best part is when it ends. This chick has no life so she must sit at home writing these things, and then rehearse them over and over...she could at least make them more interesting. I looked around the classroom; everyone was sitting at their light teal 2 person tables, half asleep. That's the thing about Mondays; they always give us the hard stuff in the morning so that we fail them because we are so tired after the weekend. I sighed and looked at the person next to me.
Sonya Canar, my best friend and most fierce competitor, we compete over anything you could think of, basketball, football, soccer, high scores on video games, and even stupid things like who can get the most tater tots out of the lunch lady on Thursdays, I don't know how she gets so many...grrr!
She giggled "Hey Leon! Guess what?" Great, she's going to tell me another one of her stories. Her deep blue eyes twinkled and grin widened, hinting that it was something about me.
"What.” It was half sincere and was really giving off the vibe that I couldn't really care less, but she's going to tell me anyways.
She giggled again, putting her hand on my shoulder. "I've got tickets to the Moshing for T!mmy benefit concert" That got my attention. I perked up in an instant. "Really, so when is it?"
She fixed her long blonde hair and grinned even wider, which i didn't think was possible, but I didn't really care. I just want to know when that concert is. "Next Sunday night, about a week from now, you want to go?"
I nodded. "I'll be there, I'll just pick you up a little before it starts" She stood up and I got a face full of her light blue blouse and blue jeans. The bell rang; we must have completely ignored the announcements, thank god. We went complete opposite directions, if I remember correctly, she had history. I have never been good at school, anything that isn't English or math really got to me and I never passed with a good grade, then I get a long lecture ending with grounding from my dad.
I have a test today, but I studied, so I should be fine. Crowds of people passed me by, I’ve been here for three years and I can only pick out a little more then a handful of those people. That's the problem with big schools, you go around meeting people, and it's cool. But right when you think you know them all, they seem to disappear and get replaced. It the never-ending cycle of life, there are over 6 billion people on this earth, you just have to learn to deal with them and move on.
The lockers changed colors every hallway I turned on, I guess it's like that because some people will be able to find their locker easier. I have never had a hard time finding mine, though I never really need it anyways. Lockers are overrated, as long as you have a strong back and a good backpack, that's all you ever need. Man, the things I think about when I’m in the hallway alone.
Here we are, room 109 Mr. Nelson's classroom. I went in the classroom, the only thing I like about the classroom are the huge tables for labs, give me lots of room for my stuff. The posters are all about cells and how they are the heart of biology, and that kind of lame stuff. The bell rang and everyone sat down. I love how I have my own table in this classroom; I hate it when I have to share with people, mainly because I get stuck with the kid that doesn't take showers in months.
Mr. Nelson walked from his back desk to the front of the room. He has a black low buzz cut with little silver hairs sticking out from old age; he had to be in his late 40s. He wasn't overweight, he was in the middle, not too shinny but not fat. He is the couch of our basketball team, but unlike here, he's alot cooler and more interesting. He started to talk after the class quieted down a bit.
"Hello Class!" He cleared his throat. "Now that I have your attention, I have some good news and some bad news." He scratched the top of his head, he does that alot.
"As you know, we have a test today, and the bad news is that the answers got stolen from my desk last night, so I am canceling the test." That's bad new? Hah, that's almost better new then the awesome concert I’m going to with Sonya.
"On to the good news, we have a new student today." He looked at the door. "Come on in Silvia!" The door opened and a tall, beautiful girl stepped through. Long beautiful silver hair ran about halfway down her back, as straight as can be, and her silver eyes ere stunning, with the figure of a model, she walked over to Mr. Nelson. The whole room was as quiet as it has it has ever been. Not even during tests has it been this quiet.
Mr. Nelson pointed to my table. "That's where you'll be sitting for remainder of the semester." She smiled and headed my way. OH MY GOD, how could I have gotten any luckier, but I got to stay cool...but she is so hot...it's okay, just keep my cool.
She sat next to me and put her stuff down.
